Antoine Griezmann says many players have been pardoned for their misdeeds before

So, there is no reason why Karim Benzema should not be pardoned and should not be allowed back into the national outfit.

As per Griezmann, an individual can be discarded for a period of time, but, after that, his mistake has got to be put aside and he must be allowed to show a rectified version of himself. A permanent cross can’t be put next to his name.

Griezmann reckons sometimes immaturity causes mistakes, but, it can’t be perceived that the person will be like that forever. People get mature as they go through the consequences of their mistakes.

Griezmann was quoted as, “Why this bitterness against Karim? I don’t have bitter feelings to be frank. Players have been lucky enough to have a second opportunity in the past and that includes me as well and I am now a much improved individual.”

“If a guy makes a mistake, you can’t link it to his character because he might have done it out of immaturity as in my case. At the time I was axed, I was naive, didn’t know how I should be behaving myself, but, it was only the effect of the teenage. However, after the axe, I reflected and now, I am not the same brat of 4 years ago.”

“Also, I want to say that sometimes you can have false information about someone. This is my own experience because I had been told a lot of nonsense about Patrice Evra that he was a negative person and all, but, later, while being in the same camp and close to each other, I found him a cracking bloke who gives you nothing, but, the positive vibes.”
