FANS WOULD LOVE GRIEZMANN – UNITED LEGEND

A Manchester United legend Mikael Silvestre has said that the fans of the club would love French striker Antoine Griezmann if the club lured him to Old Trafford.

The Atletico Madrid player has been linked to several clubs following his impressive display in recent time.

The Red Devils are believed to be the front runners in the race to sign the 26-year old. The player’s advisor Eric Olhats has revealed that the initial talks for the signature of the player has begun.

Silvestre opines that the player would be a perfect fit for the club and that the fans would love him.

“You need a lot of energy now in the modern game – Antoine has that. He has a lot of talent. He has got the right attitude. He would be perfect for United. The fans would love him. His stamina, work rate, his finishing. It would be perfect for United,” the legend claimed.

He added that the club needed proven goalscorers, of which Griezmann is one. He named Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Teddy Sheringham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Louis Saha as past proven goal poachers that did well for the club.

Silvestre said while the youngsters at the club like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are decent, he complained that they were “not regular 25-goals-a-season players yet.” He said they needed to develop before they could be that kind of players but that United needs Griezmann now as he is a consistent scorer. He added that the player’s age and proven background are pluses that make him stand out.
