HUDDERSFIELD TO PLAY IN PL AFTER 45 YEARS

Premier League new boys Huddersfield Town are set to appear in the league after earning promotion for the first time.

This would be the first time in 45 years that the club would compete in England’s top flight.

For TheTerriers, they would be revisiting some stadiums for the first time after so many years. They face the Gunners in the 2011 FA Cup fourth round. NicklasBendtner and Cesc Fabregas were on target as Arsenal defeated them.

In the 2014/15 season, Town played Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries won the Championship that term to earn a promotion to the top flight. The stadium used to be called the Goldstands Stadium.

Hudderfield played Burnley in the 2015/16 season; Chelsea in the 2008 FA Cup; Crystal Palace in 2012 in the second division; Everton in 2010; Leicester City back in 2013; Manchester City in the FA Cup this year; Manchester United in 2011 and Southampton in 2010.

They faced fellow new entrants Newcastle United and Brighton in the Championship this year. Town last faced Stoke in 2001 but met Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium more recently. Huddersfield recently played at Wembley Stadium – Spurs’ new home – at the Championship play-off final but last played at White Hart Lane in the 1970s.

The club clashed with the Hornets in 2014 in the Championship but they played the Baggies back in 2001. The new boys are yet to face West Ham United at the London stadium but they played at Upton Park in 1997/98.

TheTerrierswould be hoping for decent run of results as they play in stadiums for the first time and in others for a while when they line up for games in the Premier League from August.
