Louis Saha expects MU to win Title

Former French international Louis Saha says that he expects Manchester United to win the title in the near future. After the appointment of Louis van Gaal in the summer, results have been highly inconsistent.

It is only in the last few months that Manchester United have been able to go on a run of victories that is reminiscent of the older form. Saha won several league titles with United before injuries prevented him from making a huge impact. The former striker left the club for Everton just a few years after arriving from Fulham.

Saha won several league titles with United before injuries prevented him from making a huge impact. The former striker left the club for Everton just a few years after arriving from Fulham.

Now retired, Saha says that he has seen enough of Van Gaal to suggest that the club will be challenging for title sooner rather than later. United managed to surprise a unique weekend in the FA Cup when a number of top Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City suffered shock exits. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool are some of the top names still left in the competition. This is seen as the best opportunity for Van Gaal to win a trophy in his first season at the club. Van Gaal has been criticised for changing the team too often, but Saha says that the Dutchman is still learning about his players.

“From my view, I think he is still looking for his best team and is still missing one or two players. But there are very positive things to say as well because we’ve bought some terrific players and brought the passion back to the hearts of the fans. The main thing is to be up there challenging again. In some ways last year we lost momentum. This year is definitely better, more with a solid base than before. It is all about transition. I’m sure that any manager who comes in would struggle [at first],” said Saha.
